Help Provide Christmas Gifts for our friends at

PINE RIDGE RESERVATION

 

The Pine Ridge Buffalo Committee is sending out a small Mission Team to South Dakota the weekend of December 10-12^th.  Our purpose is two-fold:  On Saturday, December 11^th, we will work with Pat Perkins from HELPING HANDS OF WOUNDED KNEE to provide a “Secret Santa” shop at Sacred Heart Church for the Lakota children of Wounded Knee to select presents for their mom, dad, grandparents (whoever their caregivers are).  Pat tells us that we can expect about 170 kids.  On Sunday, December 12^th, we will give a Christmas Party to the families in the #4 Housing Area in Oglala.  We will provide dinner, Christmas gifts, and a presentation of the Christmas story to the families.

            WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Each of the participants on the trip is paying their own way.  HOWEVER, we need gifts and wrapping paper!   Thus far our committee represents four area churches (Marshallton UMC, Bethlehem UMC, Frazer Mennonite, and Grace Bible Church).  This is group effort!  On the reverse side of this page is a list of suggestions of what you can provide to help,  but please feel free to venture out on your own with ideas!  We ask that everything be NEW and UNWRAPPED.  (Dollar Store Items are fine.)

If you would like to make a cash donation, we will use it to buy grocery store gift certificates for the families.  Please make checks out to Marshallton United Methodist Church and mail to Jackie Kennedy, MUMC, 1282 W. Strasburg Rd, West Chester, PA  19382.  Mark the envelope “Pine Ridge”.   All donations are tax deductible.

            Please deliver all UNWRAPPED donations to the “Gift Box” in your lobby by November 29^th to give us a chance to mail the items out to Pine Ridge prior to our arrival.
