Thank you all for your interest in this mission trip!

 

Just to confirm a few things from our meeting this morning.  (Those of you who missed the meeting are responsible for scheduling time with me this week to go over everything you missed this morning - currently I am meeting with Diana and Christine on Tuesday at 6:45pm for half an hour - others are welcome, please let me know.)

 

1.   The REVISED deadline for those of you not committed yet (in other words - your paperwork is not in) is this Sunday, October 10th.

 

2.    We will NOT take 2 days in Amsterdam this time since Downingtown does not have a full Easter break and we have several college students trying to work this trip into their schedules. (Not to mention adults taking time off from work)  We will plan to leave on a flight the evening of March 17 (Thursday) and return Easter Monday, March 28.

 

3.    Having done this once before (and my being rather clueless the last time!), I plan for our training meetings to be MUCH more efficient.  Here is a rough schedule I've outlined after our discussion this morning.  Our main training time is Sunday mornings from 8:30-10:30am.  This keeps your weekdays free for your school responsibilities, but will also require you to work smartly on your homework over the weekends.  My part of this covenant is that I WILL NOT add any meetings to this schedule once we set it.   The following are all Sundays from 8:30am-10:30am in Fellowship Hall:

10/24, 10/31

11/7  No meeting, since this is our senior high retreat weekend

11/14   9:30-10:30am

11/28

12/5, 12/12, 12/19

1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30  (however one of these weekends will be an overnight training retreat - Sat to Sun)

2/6, 2/13  (note that we will NOT meet on Chrysalis weekends)

 3 /6,  3 /13

 

We will also schedule 2 Saturday morning (9am-12noon)  meeting times at the convenience of the team or possibly on a day when you don't have school...  we'll discuss at our first team meeting.  If we wind up being able to do "The Empty Spot" again, then we may not need these.
