Pine Ridge Update 07.08.04

Greetings to all!

Jackie Kennedy called this morning! It was good to hear her voice; and indeed she sounded good! She reports that they have worked out problems with the modem and there is an update on http://marshallton.blogspot.com   The latest report is from Carol Bogan and it is good to get such news! Make sure to take some time and read it.

Jackie asked me to share some things with you. The TEAM is well and VERY STRONG! What a praise indeed that is - that 41 can operate as ONE! The "kids" (Jackie's word, not mine!) are awesome; and the weather fits that same category.

They have been busy with work and play! The shed that Jackie and Matt Schweitzer took out in December is up, thanks to Martin Elks and his team. This shed is on Pat Perkins property and will be used to store items received for "Helping Hands of Wounded Knee."

They are working on three homes, Grandma Kate's, her daughter Rachel's and the Perkins. Some serious work needed to be done to rid Grandma Kate's of cockroaches! But Crew Leader Bill Richardson reported after the 4th bomb the roaches no longer had smiles on their faces and are finally gone. The work crew was scheduled to put in a linoleum floor today in Rachel's home, a home without running water. Work has been done on the Perkins home as previously planned.

The group went to Evans Plunge last night and had a wonderful time! They are scheduled to have a buffalo roast at the Perkins home this evening. And they leave tomorrow afternoon and head to Sioux Falls, SD for the night, then a long day of travel on Saturday to South Bend, Indiana. They are scheduled to arrive in Marshallton sometime between 6PM and 9PM on Sunday, July 11, 2004! They will start making calls to family and friends when they are about an hour away. If you would like to hear about their arrival time, contact me.

One request from Jackie! The rented 12' U Haul needs to be returned sometime on Monday, July 12th, to Downingtown.  A Class 3 hitch is needed to haul it. If anyone can help in this regard, please contact me via email or 610.873.1400. Many thanks!

Actually, Jackie had another request! KEEP PRAYING!

with love,
mj cook
